Sales Policy
Goats are herd animals and do not do well alone . All prospective buyers should either already own goats or have plans to purchase multiple goats.
Reservations
Powell’s barnyard offers a free waiting list. Each prospective buyer on the list will be welcome to choose from everything available at that time other than retained kids. Once a prospective buyer has been notified, 72 hours will be allotted for a response before moving onto the next person on the waiting list. A $50, non-refundable deposit, is required per animal chosen to be paid immediately in order to hold a particular goat
Health
Powell’s Barnyard maintains a clean tested negative herd. All adult goats ,at one year of age, receive testing for CAE, CL , Johnes and Brucellosis. Results are available for viewing at the farm only.
Although all goats are guaranteed healthy and up to date on all vaccines upon pickup. We cannot guarantee the health of any goat/kid after leaving the premises. All buyers are responsible for checking goats for any disqualifying traits and health concerns before leaving.
Registration, Tattoo & Disbudding
All goats except naturally polled will be disbudded.
All registerable kids if applicable will be sent home with their application for registration. All kids will be tattooed accordingly.
Transport & Pickup
All buyers are responsible for pickup and shipping arrangements, including any costs associated. All kids must be picked up within 1 week of deposit unless agreed upon before deposit. If not picked up upon agreed time a daily fee of $5 will accumulate for 1 week after said time goat/kid will go back up for sale and buyer will lose their deposit. All kids will be dam raised.
Going home bag
All kids will leave with a bag of kid feed, minerals, and instructions on how to care for their new goat. If not old enough to wean they will go home with a bottle and some goat milk to mix and switch over to new owners preference of milk. As well as coccidia prevention.
